BUZZ ABOUT BUZZ CARICATURES
That’s our Head Artist, Ted Couling, second and third…unfortunately…but hey, at least he drew the first one. He can’t “Make me look like George Clooney!” for everyone who asks but he’ll do his best.
As a young lad Ted voraciously traced newspaper comics and political cartoons and devoured Mad magazine. At age 15 he “turned pro” with the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks hockey team, as a cartoonist, not as a player (…which is why he still has most of his teeth). He and his hockey caricatures were featured coast-to-coast at intermission on Hockey Night In Canada. See old school “screenshot” above: polaroid-off-tv-screen. What’s a polaroid? Ask your Dad…
Jobs began to roll in and it was off to College to study Advertising Art/Graphic Design and Illustration. Upon graduation he worked in Advertising until Expo ‘86 in Vancouver when he discovered the Special Events Industry, and they him, in a big way.
He formed his own Cartoon and Caricature Company and has since drawn thousands and thousands of smiling faces from all over the globe for some of the world’s biggest companies…thanks to the process which has always been to give people something great for their wall…physical and/or digital.
